Learning Style

Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic VAK Learning styles are various approaches or ways of learning. They involved education methods, particular to an individual that are presumed to allow that individual to learn best. The VAK learning style is important because it allows people to have better understanding about how to improve their performance in any situation. Understanding the VAK learning style offers more opportunity for adoptation and success of individuals and by those who interact with them.

Most of the time, in a typical classroom setting, students are involved only passively in learning, i.e., in listening to the instructor, looking at the occasional overhead or slide, and reading (when required) the text book. Research shows that such passive involvement generally leads to a limited retention of knowledge by student.

In active learning, instead of simply receiving information verbally and visually, students are receiving and participating and doing. Use dominant learning style followed by multiple type of learning styles will help in better learning and retention.
